Cultural Exchange

It’s been raining here since Friday. Over the weekend, it rained non-stop. No complains, I love rainy days. I like the sound, it’s really therpeutic. I didn’t know how to describe why I love the sound of rain until I read Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. In the book, the sound of rain was compared to ‘white noise’, there’s sound but it’s not jarring or noisy. If you listen long enough, it can get ’silent’ after a while.

My Advertising lecturer was telling me she’s acting as the foster parent of a Pinay exchange student from De La Salle University. The exchange student will be studying 3 months at NUS (National University of Singapore). I didn’t even know De La Salle University was offering exchange student programmes! If I had known, I would have encouraged my cousin to apply. No point now though, she’s graduating at the end of the year. NUS is like the university to go to. But then again, it’s course specific. For courses like Mass Communications, TV and Film Production, it’s advisable to go to a polytechnic.

Aaaahh, how can I forget? I got my Semester 1 results. I’m not really happy about them, but my parents have been really supportive and made it known to me that they are not looking for perfect grades, just as long as I know I did my best.

B for Mass Media Research, B for Electronic Media and A for Public Relations. I have an A but don’t feel particularly special because almost everyone scored an A for PR.

Note to myself: MUST DO BETTER THIS SEMESTER!
