For the Record
Tuesday, July 3, 2007Wise-ass comment from somewhere: "Man with hand in pocket has ball in hand."
Can't seem to get that off my head.

For the record, the lack of posts is due to sheer laziness, sheer monotony of life and the lack of exciting events. The writer in me is still there, just that I get inspirations in the weirdest of times. Like when I'm in the middle of crossing the street, while I'm standing in line in the supermarket cashier counter or when I'm in a conversation with someone. I'm finding it harder to grab hold of that 'idea' and write about it later. It's really just all there in my head, the intro, the body and the conclusion all jumbled up. It's the process of getting them out of my head that I find hard. I blame the inactivity. Mold and rust grow on the idle and the inactive.

To get started I will write about the deardarling's surprise birthday party. Under my previous blogger hyped up circumstances, I would have posted tons of pictures and a detailed entry about it only a few days after. Okay, I just noticed something funny, in all of my posts, I never really mentioned my boyfriend's name. Hahahaha.

Anyhoo, his surprise 22nd Birthday Party was at MacDonald's King Albert Park. We were on our way to KAP, he was under the false pretense that I was meeting my cousin's friend who's hostel was nearby. I thought I was going to die when his friends kept calling me (telling me that they were there already and who and who will be late). It was pretty hard to be discreet about it but he was pretty much surprised.

My Beloved McBirthday Orge Boy.

Fin tried (and succeeded) in blowing out the candles before the birthday boy. His cake was so cute, it was this tiny MacDonald's chocolate cake. I didn't know Mac's made cakes.

Flanked by his closest friends.Yes, of course the right hand man is me *grins.

The birthday boy gets manhandled. A big smack on the cheek and lots of hugs. I love this two pictures, they are so candid and fun. These are the kind of pictures that make you laugh 30 years down the road.

The ogre people. But of course we look so much better than Fiona and Shrek.

Fin the Fat Firefly.

Awww. One of those acceptable PDA pics. Acceptable enough to show my dad and he can actually say its a sweet picture.

It was Rikki's birthday lunch at Ichiban Sushi last Saturday. Like Alvin, Rikki ain't the kind who celebrated birthdays on a big scale. I had to force Rikki to go out and lunch with me and Nicholas. Deja vu all over again, the exact same thing happened last year. But it was a cosy lunch, just the trio again after such a long time of not hanging out. Because we thought town was too far and overrated, we decided to meet at AMK Hub instead. Primarily to lunch at Fish & Co, we decided to eat at Ichiban Sushi instead cuz Rikki was having the flu, despite me telling him that fried stuff is good for the blocked nose.. hahahaha.

The City Girl and the Mountain Boy. You can say we are the Filipino rejects, one can't sing, and the other can't speak the language. I guess that's why we stick together. Hahaha. He's one of the three people who I can call in the middle of the night and won't get mad for waking him up.

The trio: April, Rikki and Nicholas.

I met the sweetheart after lunch with the trio for my next cheap thrill - The Singapore Food Festival for the Biggest Singapore Chilli Crab Festival. It was free too! It was a funny story how we got tickets.

We came from True'Est at Ngee Ann city after we went for our facial and saw the big tent at Civic Plaza. I'm not denying the fact that I have Singaporean blood in me now, I saw a queue and wanted to know what people were queuing up for. And they were in line for the complimentary tickets for the Chilli Crab Festival. Only 150 tickets to be given out that Friday and another 150 on Saturday. I thought we weren't going to make the cut but we did! 149 and 150, baby!

Lucky numbers - 149 and 150.

Waiting in line to start our Chilli Crab dinner.

Our free chilli crab dinner from Jumbo. And there's free flow of Tiger beer too! This is topping the charts in my 'Cheap Thrills' list. I can't believe I finished 1kg of chilli crab on my own.

We had to wear these cute Jumbo aprons while we dined. I brought mine home cuz I just thought it was the cutest.
