Well I’m back in Singapore and because I decided not to go back to working at IFF, I’m once again unemployed and in limbo. I got back on Sunday but I should have been back on Saturday - my Garuda Indonesia flight was delayed! My original flight was scheduled on Saturday, 10.30am but it was postponed to Sunday, 1.30am. More than 12 hours delayed, can you believe it? At least they offered to put us up in a hotel but I decided against it. Instead I took the other option of collecting the RMB300 from them and leaving the airport… went back to my dad’s apartment which proved to be a better idea, got to hang out and relax more.
I spent my last days in Shanghai eating and shopping. If I stayed there longer I think my dad would have gone broke. I think I bought about 3 bags, 4 pairs of shoes, lots of accessories and other stuff that I can’t remember. After all that retail therapy overload in Shanghai, I was close to puking when I saw the shops at The Cathay yesterday when I went to catch a movie with the sweetheart. Besides, all the things in Shanghai looked so pretty that everything else back here looks mediocre compared… and also because I overspent and now I have to scrimp on everything thus, I expect myself to be camping at home for the next months or so (unless I take on a job that I actually like). Don’t get confused, I am employed, I’m an intern writer for a magazine but I don’t have to work regular office hours and write articles only when I have assignments so most of the time I’m not really working
I was going to post more Shanghai pictures but I realize I have gone over my free Flickr account quota of 200 pictures. Until I find a way to upload more pictures online, I’ll be posting minimal pictures from now on.

At Chinatown with Daddy-o. You would think that having a Chinatown in China is a little redundant since the whole country is a China town to begin with. They have Starbucks in Chinatown too! Lotsa retail shops selling souvenirs and twice as many food stalls selling street food. I would have tried those if only I didn’t have a weak stomach.
